Pam Berridge
My interests lie in early photographs and photographic techniques; the study of photographs as narrative and the close associations between photography and memory.
Photographs are seen as signifiers of previous lives and experiences and possess a shade of the person or object photographed; they have reference to remembering and form a link to the past by bringing it into the present moment.
By projecting
images from modern society onto a historical template through the fusion of
modern and traditional methods, I hope to explore sociological themes such as
universality and shared memory. In particular I wish to explore a female
perspective on society as expressed through photography.
